Name: Amy Wood Gonzalez |
| After reaching considerable success as Director of Rehab services for a health care provider in South Florida, Amy went into the Real Estate business when we returned to Ithaca to raise our young family. Originally from Dryden, Amy knew that this area was the perfect place to raise our children and expertly managed our move, selling our multiple properties in Florida and buying our home in Tompkins County in the process. In addition to her loving and nurturing abilities as wife and mother of two, Amy is a licensed Associate Real Estate Broker with Warren Real Estate and goes above and beyond to serve others. One of the many examples of Amy’s dedication to service is her recent investment on a trailer that her customers can use, at no charge, to move their belongings to their new home. Although this was a considerable investment during the worse Real Estate market in years, Amy’s dedication to going above and beyond made this investment an easy decision and she is the only real estate professional in the area that offers a free trailer to her customers. Knowing that many of our area residents will be retiring soon, Amy earned her Resort and Second Home Property Specialist certification to further assist her clients with relocation across the country. While some of her customers are buying and selling locally, many others are considering their longer-term real estate options. These options may include purchasing a second home for retirement purposes or investing in a resort area in a different location. Amy can help identify real estate opportunities nationwide. In addition, Amy’s service orientation is evidenced by her tireless service at the local and state level. Below is a list of the many roles Amy has and continues to serve since returning to Tompkins County: * Ithaca Board of Realtors: starting as Secretary, Amy was then Treasurer, President-Elect and President of the Board. She currently serves as a Committee Chairperson for the Board of Directors and on other Board committees as well. * New York State Association of Realtors: Throughout her service on the Ithaca Board of Realtors, Amy also serves at the state level on committees for the NY State Association of Realtors. She currently serves on the Professional Standards Steering Committee and the Nominating Committee which was involved in selecting the next Secretary/Treasurer for the state association. * CFCU Board of Directors: Amy was invited to join the CFCU board in 2010 where she partners with other local leaders to render critical decisions regarding the business of CFCU. In addition, Amy participated in the challenging process or recruiting and hiring the new Chief Executive Officer for CFCU. This process took months and showcased Amy’s dedication to service and her ability to partner with others in order to make the best leadership decision for the community. * Elizabeth Ann Clune Montessori School of Ithaca: Passionate about learning and development, Amy gladly accepted a position as Board Member of the school where she partners with other board members to conduct necessary research, lead special projects, and decide on the many proposals that need to be considered in order to ensure the school’s sustainability and continued success. * Habitat for Humanity of Tompkins and Cortland Counties: Amy volunteered for the construction of the first Tompkins County home in 15 years for a local resident and her family and graciously donated her commission to Habitat for the purchase of land for their second home in Tompkins County. It is important to note that Amy volunteers for all these positions. Amy’s enduring sense of service as well as her dedication to assisting others is evidenced by the caring and professional service she offers all her customers on a daily basis, as she assist them with their real estate needs. Nominated by Al Gonzalez Bio: I was raised in Tompkins County and my husband and I returned back to the Ithaca area to raise our family following several years in Florida. After receiving my Master’s degree as a Speech-Language Pathologist from SUNY Geneseo. I traveled the United States with my employer and ended up in Florida as an Area Manager covering Rehabilitation departments from Central to South Florida. We decided to return to the Ithaca area to be raise our family with an ultimate goal of enjoying all of the benefits that the Finger Lakes region has to offer, while keeping strong ties with family, friends and professionals in Florida. I became licensed in Real Estate in 2003 and currently work full time as an Associate Broker with Warren Real Estate. I serve both buyers and sellers in and around both Tompkins and Cortland counties. I am very close with my Mom, Donna and would not be where I am today without her love and support! |
